The Heart behind Sleepy Moons
I’m Jessica Chennault, owner of Sleepy Moons and a certified infant and toddler sleep consultant. Before this chapter, I spent years working as a physical therapist assistant, helping tiny humans grow strong and reach milestones.
When my husband Derek and I had our first baby, Brooks (now 3.5 years old), we had no idea what level of exhaustion was in store for us. By the time he was five months old, we decided to sleep train. Co-sleeping wasn’t working, the endless night wakings weren’t sustainable, and taking turns sleeping in a recliner while holding him just wasn’t it.
We used an online program that helped—but we had so many questions and wished we had more support. Fast forward to when Lennon was born… Postpartum wasn’t always kind to me, and sleep training her came with some big emotions.
During that process, I began helping friends sleep train their little ones. When they told me things like “you changed our lives” or “I’m a better mom thanks to you,” it brought so much healing to my own postpartum journey.
One day I told Derek, “I want to help other moms feel confident—not lost—during the sleep training process. Because I know how life-changing it is to have a well-rested baby and to be a well-rested mama.”
He said, “I just really think you were made for this. You love supporting moms and babies. Go for it.”
And just like that, Sleepy Moons was born.
Now, over a year later, I’ve had the honor of helping more than 250 families find rest and confidence. I’m endlessly grateful and still just as passionate about supporting tired parents through those tough nights.
If you made it this far—thank you! I hope you stick around and maybe even join the Sleepy Moons family if you’re a sleepy human too.
